Oil Blues

On stage the largest blues festival in Southeast Asia, "Jakarta International Blues Festival 2011" held in Senayan, Jakarta, December 17, 2011 ago, appeared a young guitarist from England named Oli Brown. Maybe the name sounds familiar, but his performance was not kidding. Oli is a blues guitarist's brightest newcomers in the UK today. And at the festival, it comes as a guitarist in the band John Mayall, English blues legend who had been 'struggling home' for guitarists and famous blues musicians such as Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce, Peter Green, Mick Fleetwood, Mick Taylor to Walter Trout.

"Someone who is really talented and deserve to have a good career." Praise is made by Joe Bonamassa, blues-rock guitarist of the most popular in the world today. Not excessive, since the movement began to cultivate the careers Oil guitar at the age of 13 years is indeed astonishing. Throughout 2010 and 2011, Oli has won a variety of great reputation as a blues musician. His first album, "Open Road" (2008) get lots of positive comments from various international media. Even the "Heads I Win Tails You Lose" (2010), her second album was ranked third and fourth best 2010 version of the prestigious magazine, Mojo and Classic Rock. While in the British Blues Awards in the same year, Oli was awarded "Best Male Vocalist" and "Best Young Artist".
At the age of just turned 22 years old, Oli had to experience sharing the stage with renowned blues giants like Joe Bonamassa, Walter Trout, Robben Ford, Devon Allman to the Godfather of British Blues, John Mayall! Now, the oil was getting ready to launch his third album, and this is the expression.

We hear you've set up a new album. How does the process of recording?
Yes, the album titled "Here I Am". We have just finished recording and designing artwork for him. (The album) starts with the writing of almost the entire song before recording, further developed during the process while we listened to some things and get a better view of the side in his songs. Bass, rhythm guitar and drums (recorded) together. (Organ) Hammond / Rhodes recorded the next, then solo (guitar), lead vocals and backing vocals. I learned a lot about the arrangements of the songs and how to make it continue to grow.Wayne Proctor who produced this album so much emphasis on making arrangements for his songs remain dynamic and interesting, and make sure none of the gap where the songs become too protracted. Provide tempo beats that vary in specific parts for added speed. I improvise a lot in the approach to songwriting.

When writing the guitar solo on the album, do you let it be natural or trying to fit the theme song? What kind of preparation (before recording)?
On this album, a lot of preparation done before the complete recording. I want to reduce the sense of 'jamming' in this album and feel that more emphasis on teraransemen when heard. We recorded the majority of the music live together in a band. My (then) record his solo part separately and also recording the rhythm guitar both because I want to double the guitar tracks to sound more majestic. Songs are arranged to be maintained along the grooves and bass groove is also written in detail. If you listen to what the bass in every song then you will hear the movement in it and follow the progression of the song. We apply the pattern if the rhythm guitar is played bass more solid means the game will play something more interesting rhythmic and vice versa.
